Group Therapy Offerings
Roots & Renewal: Healing from Narcissistic Abuse
Have you been living your day to day life wondering if you’re the crazy one? Are you questioning your own reality, feeling confused, or even emotional whiplash? Have you experienced gaslighting, love-bombing, and the cycle of narcissistic abuse?
This group was created to be a safe space for victims of narcissistic abuse to come together as a collective and support one another throughout the journeys we bear witness to. Whether you have experienced narcissistic abuse with a romantic partner, friend, family member, or in the workplace - you belong. Welcome to the next chapter of your recovery, come as you are! In creating these spaces over the past two years, you can trust that you will feel that you can establish roots and foster meaningful connections in this space, while also sharing your experience and providing insight to other group members.
Living in the Gray: A Group for Young folx with Chronic pain/illness
Are you feeling overwhelmed with the constant appointments and referrals? Feeling like you’re your own medical secretary? Have you felt neglected, disheartened, and maybe even traumatized by the medical system in your health journey? Written off as anxiety, solely because “you can’t be this sick” at your age?
Welcome to a group where we get to discuss all of the above and more! Your group therapist is someone who is also disabled and can speak to their own lived experience as a disabled, queer person navigating the medical system. We discuss topics such as: medical gaslighting, getting multiple opinions, being passed from specialist to specialist, issues with access to medical care due to insurance, and so much more. Welcome to the next stop on your healing journey: living in the gray. We hope you leave these groups feeling heard, seen, and understood by peers who have lived similar experiences.
Living in the Gray: A Support group for Teens w/ Chronic Pain & Illness
Day/time: Wednesdays at 5PM w/ Mel
PA residents only
Have you been told that you’re too young to be this sick or have this condition? Have you been barred from care or specialists because of your age? Do the adults around you not take your pain seriously or are you feeling misunderstood? Are you feeling isolated from your friends or peers because of your chronic illness, pain, or disability?
We’ve been there. Welcome to Living in the Gray: A Chronic Pain/Illness group for teens between 14-18 years old. This group is run by Melanie, a therapist that grew up as a teen with chronic illness and disability, and understands the experience. In this group, we will discuss navigating multiple appointments on top of school, missing out on opportunities that “normal” teenagers get to have, and sharing in our pain. This group is to help you feel seen, heard, and understood, while also connecting with other teens who just “get it”.
Not the Third Parent: A Support group for Eldest Daughters
Day/time: Wednesdays at 6PM w/ Mel
PA residents only
Are you the eldest daughter of the family and feeling exhausted by it? Do you feel you need to predict and navigate everyone’s emotions and feel like there’s no space for your own? Do you identify as the parentified child?
Welcome to Not the Third Parent: A Support Group for Eldest Daughters. In this group, we will discuss the responsibilities and burdens of being the eldest in your family system, run by Melanie, who is also an eldest daughter. Topics of group discussion can range from feeling like the parentified child, being treated differently than your siblings, being the counselor or mediator for your family members, and so much more. This group is for the eldest daughters who want to be independent and step outside of the role of being the peacekeeper, the mediator, or the third parent. This is a safe space to discuss difficult (or even taboo) topics, such as the physical and mental effects of being forced into this role and breaking out of the cultural and societal norms & expectations.
Come Through As You/Come As you are: Neuroqueer Support Group
Day/time: Thursdays at 6pm (full) w/ Jay
Have you been feeling sure of your identity, but there is more nuance? Do you struggle with sensory issues, diagnosed/undiagnosed neurodivergence, and demand avoidance? Are you seeking a space to completely unmask, be your authentic self, and be met with the same energy in return?
Welcome to Come Through As You, a support group for neurodivergent queer folx. In this group, we build connection and community, discuss hyperfixations, and sometimes even use body doubling to get our tasks done! As the world gets scarier, you deserve a place to land, scream into the void, and acknowledge the unique challenges we are facing as a community. This is a place to share your interests, express and navigate difficult emotions, “life hacks”, and foster a compassionate, neurodivergent queer community. Your group therapist will be queer and neurodivergent - it is important that you are also met with that lived experience!
cost: $50 per group
